CFP: Politics, Civic Life and Culture – Northeast Popular/American Culture Association

The section on Politics, Civic Life, and Culture for the 2015 Northeast Popular/American Culture Association conference is now accepting paper proposals from faculty and graduate students. This year, NEPCA’s annual fall conference will be held on the campus of Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH during the weekend of October 30-November 1, 2015. NEPCA welcomes papers from a wide range of disciplines that explore the role of political actors, discourses, and satire in popular culture. Studies of political rhetoric, representations of politics in the mass media, and shifting public attitudes are particularly welcome. Paper proposals (250-words) should be sent to the area chair, Bob Hackey, via email (rhackey@providence.edu) on or before June 15, 2015. Your proposal should also include a two or three sentence description of yourself, your background,and your qualifications or a current CV.

NEPCA presentations are generally 20 minutes in length and may be delivered either formally or informally. NEPCA prides itself on holding conferences which emphasize sharing ideas in a non-competitive and supportive environment involving graduate students, junior faculty, and senior scholars.
