CFP for World Literature at #NEPCA2020

CFP: World Literature – Northeast Popular/American Culture Association

The World Literature area for the 2020 Northeast Popular/American Culture Association conference is accepting paper proposals from faculty and graduate students. NEPCA’s 2020 annual conference will be held from Friday, October 23-Saturday, October 24 2020 at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH.

The NEPCA World Literature area welcomes papers that explore both individual works of world literature as well as contemporary issues in the field of World Literature.  Questions under consideration could include how to understand what world literature is, how best to teach works of world literature as well as the exploration of current trends in postcolonial, world and comparative literatures.  Possible topics include but are not limited to:

  • Analyses of specific works of World Literature

  • Strategies for teaching World Literature

  • Publication, reception and audience of World Literature

  • World Literature and the American classroom

  • Trends in World Literature

  • The Future of World Literature

  • Translation and World Literature

  • World Literature and Genre

Please submit paper proposals of 250 words to the World Literature area chair Susan Gorman by June 1, 2020 via the paper proposal form available on the NEPCA website (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzmwBkMsV-R2V_rNydJUzVhXY0kNehiYCJ9wD4oK1ffqYXow/viewform).  Please ensure that your proposal is jargon-free and understandable to a broad audience.
